The Lonesome and Naive

An experiment in self-therapy.

imagine
a bedroom floor
comprised of spotless windowpanes

each step you take
each ginger tread of bare feet
cracks the fragile plane

you’ve become a pure snow queen

four walls
conjoined, glued
like cheap flannel board
magenta and mauve

they combust
from your fingertips

draw a perfect circle
it’ll transfigure
into an octagon

and you consume your unoriginal days
intravenously
and take your mind-numbing disdain
dark, no cream

why?
why the hell should you ask?

you’re too adorable to be self aware
